Hire a Remote
Social Media Manager

An embedded operator who plans content calendars, schedules posts, engages your clients' communities, and produces lightweight content, so your agency's social channels stay consistent without consuming senior creative time.

Role Scope

What this operator does and doesn't do

Clear boundaries keep operators effective and protect your agency from scope creep.

Responsibilities

  • Build monthly content calendars across Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook, and other platforms
  • Schedule posts using native tools (Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn scheduler) and third-party platforms (Later, Buffer, Sprout)
  • Write captions in brand voice, short-form copy with platform-specific framing
  • Engage with comments and DMs; monitor brand mentions across channels
  • Produce lightweight content: Reels edits in CapCut, simple carousels in Canva, story templates
  • Track native platform analytics and report on engagement, reach, and content performance
  • Maintain posting cadence and content mix (educational / promotional / community)

Not responsible for

  • Authoring content strategy or brand voice from scratch
  • Designing from scratch in Figma or building advanced creative assets
  • Running paid ads (organic only, even on the same platforms)
  • Managing influencer partnerships, contracts, or outreach
  • Growth hacking, virality experiments, or audience-building from zero

Is this the right fit?

This role is perfect for

01

Agencies managing always-on social for multiple clients

When you're running channels for 3+ clients simultaneously, you need an operator who keeps every calendar moving, not a strategist juggling other work.

02

Teams where the strategist or designer handles social on top of bigger work

If your senior team is the only one writing captions and scheduling posts, that's senior time leaking into operational work. This role takes it off their plate.

03

Agencies whose clients need consistent posting, not one-off campaigns

Always-on channels demand calendar discipline and platform-specific framing, work that's hard to fit between bigger projects without dropping consistency.

FAQs

FAQs on hiring an Social Media Manager

How fast can I get started?

Most operators are matched and introduced within days of scoping. From there, your operator learns your tools and gets to work, most clients see meaningful production in the first two weeks.

What if the operator isn't the right fit?

We replace them. Within 30 days of your request, we place a new operator into the role, and in most cases, within two weeks. Your first replacement is free; after that, a $500 re-onboarding fee applies.

Do I need to onboard them?

Operators start agency-trained. You'll provide context on your systems and SOPs, Beam handles the contractor relationship, training, and ongoing support.

How do you keep brand voice consistent across clients?

Brand voice is one of the things we screen for hardest in recruitment, captions are the core skill of this role. During onboarding, your operator learns each client's brand voice from your existing content, brand guidelines, and a short calibration period. Most clients see consistent voice in week two; senior approval workflows can be added for higher-stakes accounts.
